Using a Heat Gun

1. Materials Needed:

• Sublimation mug (specifically designed for sublimation)
• Infusible ink or sublimation paper
• Heat-resistant tape
• Heat gun
• Lint-free cloth (for cleaning the mug)

2. Preparation:

• Design Your Image: Create your design using software and print it on sublimation paper. Make sure to mirror the design before printing.
• Clean the Mug: Wipe the mug with a lint-free cloth to remove any dust or oils that could affect the transfer.

3. Applying the Design:

• Position the Design: Place the printed sublimation paper (ink side down) onto the mug. Use heat-resistant tape to secure it in place, ensuring there are no air bubbles.

4. Sublimation Process:

• Heat the Mug: Turn on the heat gun to a low setting and hold it about 1 to 1.5 inches away from the design. Move the heat gun back and forth over the design for about 4 minutes, ensuring even heat distribution.

• Cooling: Allow the mug to cool for at least 20 minutes before handling it to avoid burns.

5. Final Steps:

• Remove the Design: Once cooled, carefully peel off the tape and sublimation paper to reveal your design. The ink should have transferred onto the mug, creating a vibrant image.
